LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is a baking, pastry and sweets extravaganza for the whole family, with hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the best in baking products and tools. Local and national vendors will offer samples of various pastries, sweets and snacks, and there will be charity baking and cookie eating contests, celebrity chef/author appearances, pastry decorating classes and more.

Celebrity chefs and authors from the Food Network, Masterchef and TLC will be on hand to sign autographs and judge the baking contest. Among those scheduled to participate is the Food Network’s “Sweet Genius,” Ron Ben-Israel, one of the world’s most famous cake designers. The convention also recently added Greggy Soriano of “Cake Boss: Next Great Baker” to its roster.

“The response has been tremendous,” said organizer Nancy Tei. “LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show has become the ‘must-go’ party for anyone who bakes or loves sweets, and it hasn’t even happened yet.”

The only baking and pastry convention on the West Coast, LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show offers bakers the opportunity to practice their pastry, cookie and cake decorating skills and learn techniques and tricks from the pros. There also will be demonstrations of new baking and cooking tools.

Professional bakers and confectioners from around the world will compete in in the inaugural World Dessert Table Championships. Amateurs and semi-pros may enter four Baking Contest divisions: novelty cake pops, novelty cakes, the adults’ iced cookie division and the kids’ iced cookie division. All contests are judged by panels of celebrity guests, bloggers and luxury event planners.

The event will also feature a dedicated family lounge with free entertainment, face painting courtesy of LA Parent, Kidlicks’ organic edible nail polish, crafts, giveaways and more.
